Red Rock is a major recreation and entertainment center for Gallup and the surrounding area
Surrounded by spectacular red cliffs formed more than 200 million years ago, Red Rock was first occupied by the Anasazi, then by the Navajo from the 18th century. There are several trails through the red rocks and canyons. The 5,000-seat Red Rock Arena is perfect for outdoor performances, including frequent rodeos (such as the Gallup Lions Club Rodeo in June), the Inter Tribal Indian Ceremonial (August) and the Red Rock Balloon Rally (December).
