KERATON KADRIYAH PONTIANAK KALBAR

On the east bank of the Sungai Kapuas, the Keraton Kadriah is the palace of the first sultan of Pontianak. Dating back to the ^18th century, it's a large, well-preserved Malay-style log building, now converted into a museum. A guide, a descendant of the family, will be happy to give you a tour of the palace in English, for a small fee. Inside, you can admire the royal bedroom, numerous historical objects and jewels. Next door is the mosque.
