Colorful Chinese temple, the oldest in Kalbar, overlooking the Kapuas River and located close to the Pasir de Jalan Sultan.
A true icon of the city, this colorful Chinese temple, with its yellow and green roofs and red walls, is the oldest in Kalbar. It was built in 1679 during the reign of the Hie Kang dynasty (1645-1772). This place of worship overlooks the Kapuas River and is located very close to the Pasir of Jalan Sultan Muhammad. Inside are three altars dedicated to Tua Pek Kong, a Taoist deity, Yu Huàng, the God of Heaven, and Mazu, the Goddess of the Ocean.
