KIRTI GOMPA (DACANGNAMA GE'ERDISI)

This monastery is the largest of the two monasteries of Langmusi, but also the poorest, judging by the state of the buildings and the quality of the roads to come there. The roofs are in silver sheet, Sichuan style, and the surrounding hills offer a fascinating spectacle, that of the faithful who come to launch small papers in the sky, screaming with all their forces. Our favorite monastery in Langmusi, because despite its reconstruction following the plundering of the Cultural Revolution, it has preserved an authentic atmosphere and, above all, its central chörten. It now houses about 700 monks.
