WEST DOOR

If the North, South and East doors are easily accessible from the old town, the West Gate is built on the heights (visible from almost all Songpan) and dominates the entire valley. The journey to access it takes at least one hour (or more depending on fitness), but the panorama is worth a detour. On the other side is the campaign, with only a few farms. Part of the climb is done on the old ramparts.
