FREEDOM THEATRE

The Freedom Theatre is located in the Jenin refugee camp. It was founded during the ^1st Intifada by Arna Mer Khamis, an Israeli Jewish activist and mother of film director Juliano Mer Khamis, who was murdered by Palestinian terrorists in front of the theater. She has dedicated her life to human rights in Palestine. The center offers cultural activities to the camp's children, opening them up to something other than the life imposed by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The theater suffered losses (human and material) during the Israeli raids of 2023.
