The island of Aoré is located south of Espiritu Santo and north of the small island of Malo. Aoré is accessible from Luganville in a few minutes by boat. With a population of only 500 inhabitants, the island extends over less than 60 km². At the beginning of the colonization, it was the place of the first coconut plantations in Santo and its region. The luxurious hotels and private residences that are located there make it famous.
