AÉROPORT

The newly renovated and expanded Namibe Airport was inaugurated by the President of the Republic in February 2014. It has also changed its name and is now called Welwitchia mirabilis. It was originally built in 1960 and was called after independence "Yuri Gagarin". It is located a few kilometres from the city centre on the road to Tombwa. TAAG Luanda-Namibe flights three times a week.
