AFRICAN HERITAGE
Founded in the early 2010's by archaeologist and anthropologist Menno Welling, African Heritage has set itself the mission of safeguarding, managing and promoting Malawi's cultural heritage. The discovery of historical, cultural and natural sites and sites that constitute the country's rich heritage is highlighted during guided tours organized by African Heritage. Among the excursions suggested by this organization, we can mention the visit of Zomba (colonial buildings, botanical garden; US$20/person), the eponymous plateau (US$28/person, guide and transport included), Chikala Pillars (US$70/person, guide and transport included, 4 to 5 hours return time), Chongoni rock painting sites (US$125/person, 1 day), the piedmont of the Mulanje massif (Fort Lister, sacred sites and basins; US$85/person, guide and transport included), missions, etc. Thematic tours (Livingstone and the history of slavery, the Chilembwe uprising and the struggle for independence...) are also available.
