This museum recalls the rich prehistoric past of northern Malawi. The centerpiece is the reconstruction of Malawisaurus, a 120 million year old dinosaur that was discovered in 1924 in the vicinity of Karonga and is 12 meters long and 3 meters high. This is the first time that the city has been able to showcase its cultural heritage in the context of a city's history. This is a good way to get to know the local people and their culture, as well as the geology of the area. This is a good example of how to make a connection with the environment.
