Travel Guide Telkwa

The villages of Telkwa and Houston, nestled between the Bulkley and Telkwa Rivers, live mainly from fishing and forestry. The landscape is magnificent, between lakes (Babine and Morice) and mountains. Whether you like hiking, mountain biking, rafting, and, of course, fishing: you are in the middle of nature. This village was born in 1906, inhabited by European explorers. A century later, Telkwa is still a human-sized village with 1500 residents. Don't miss to visit the historical buildings of the town and stop at the museum. Every year in February an international dog sled racing championship is held. In winter, skiing and snowmobiling are practiced without limits.
