Situated between the Fajã da Penedia and the Fajã das Funduras, it can be reached via the PRC06 SJO hike, which, starting from the Fajã da Penedia, crosses several abandoned or hard-to-reach fajãs, in an absolutely sublime natural landscape. Comprising a few ruins and a hayloft, the Fajã Mero is renowned for its microclimate and the abundance of fresh water that flows through it at all times. Residents of Norte Pequeno still cultivate small vegetable gardens here. A little further along the way, you'll find the Canto da Abelheira, an abandoned fajã where a vast community of birds now nest, as well as rabbits that have come to seek refuge in this little natural paradise.
