This neo-classical church, which is part of the desire of Charles III of Spain to make Ràpita the most important port in Catalonia, has never been completed, the king having not enough of a life to finish his project. The centric building building is surmounted by a modern construction supported by ionic style columns replacing the hypothetical inachevée dome. Església Nova is now the seat of the Tourist Office, Oscar Carballo Centre and a Lighting interpretation centre.
