MEDIEVAL CASTLE OF SANT JORDI D'ALFAMA

It was in the th century that the first fortification - a defensive tower - was built on the shores of the Gulf of Sant Jordi. A century later, it was rebuilt in fortress by the Templar who founded the Order of Sant Jordi of Alfama. This first construction was destroyed during the «des» war that pitted France and Spain in the th century. Today, there are only a few remains that can be observed near the fort.
