This charming fishing village is located on Wellington Island. Before the arrival of the first settlers in 1936, Puerto Eden and its surroundings were the kingdom of the Alakalufe, nomads and seal hunters. The small port has inherited the maritime traditions and crafts of this now extinct people: very few of the current residents are direct descendants of the Alakalufes. In Puerto Eden, time is punctuated by the sea trips of the local fishermen. From here, you can observe the Pio XI glacier, the largest glacier in South America. There are no roads and it can only be reached by sea with the Navimag ferries (www.navimag.com).
