OLD GOVERNMENT HOUSE
This house in Parramatta Park was home to the colony's first 10 governors for seven decades
In the heart of Parramatta Park, Old Government House is Australia's oldest public building. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Australia Convict Sites, it was the residence of the colony's first ten governors for 70 years. Its current appearance largely reflects the era of Governor Macquarie. The interior houses a valuable collection of colonial furniture from the National Trust, the largest in the country. A fascinating historical tour, to be combined with a peaceful stroll in Parramatta Park.
