Smiske, Smiske Bruin, Smiske Extra, Smiske Winter What was originally a small hobby brewery run by Johan Brandt alongside his printing business in Bruges became a rather more serious business when Brandt set up his new Smisje brewery in 2009 at Mater, near Oudenaarde in East Flanders.In spring 2010, he discontinued his then range of nine beers in one fell swoop and he now makes three year-round beers, Smiske, Smiske Bruin and Smiske Extra, and one seasonal beer, Smiske Winter.Meanwhile, a group of fans has come together on Facebook to plead for the return of old favourites like Wostyntje (with mustard seeds), Dubbel IPA and Imperial Stout.
