Information center in Hasselt with a detailed history of Herkenrode Abbey with an interactive audio guide

The abbey was a monastery of Cistercian nuns founded in 1182. The history of the monastery is explained in detail in the Information Center, in the former stables and carriage house, through a tour of 600 years of history, that of the women of Herkenrode. The audioguide "The abbess tells" also immerses you in an interactive experience. In the store, books, gourmet products, spices and Trappist beers are offered to visitors, who can come and discover, from April to November, the plant garden and take a bike ride in the heart of the domain.
