We have to go back to the year of grace 1598 to find the first mention of Spannagel's name in Katzenthal! Today, Yves Spannagel maintains with his wife Claudine and his children Jérôme and Marie, a tradition that goes back more than four centuries: the love of wine. To cultivate the memory of past generations, a family tree proudly stands at the entrance of the cellar! With a degree in oenotourism, Marie offers you a playful journey around the five senses based on photos of her mother Claudine and her grandparents' childhood memories. As far as winemaking is concerned, this family business favours authenticity rather than mass production. While the know-how remains traditional, the family combines a touch of modernity by offering an online shop where you will find little marvels: pinot blanc Tradition 2017 (Selection Guide Hachette des Vins 2020), riesling Grand Cru Wineck Schlossberg 2017 (Selection Bettane+Desseauve 2020), pinot gris Grand Cru Kaefferkopf 2018, without forgetting a gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardives 2017 which is to be damned!

Félix Meyer, ancestor of the Félix who runs the estate today, emigrated from Switzerland to Katzenthal in 1732. Today, the 18.5 hectares of vines are on the Grands Crus Wineck-Schlossberg, Kaefferkopf, Furstentum, Sporen and Schoenenbourg, as well as several lieux-dits. They produce a wide range of good wines: Reserve wines, Grands Crus and Lieux-Dits, Late Harvest and Sélection de Grains Nobles. Taste a Riesling Wineck-Schlossberg 2020 with a surprising peach nose and a sublime Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Furstentum 2018 with notes of pomelo.

Organically grown since 2009, this beautiful family estate exploits 11 ha of vineyards with beautiful parcels on the Grands Crus Wineck-Schlossberg, Schlossberg, Furstentum, Kaefferkopf, Mambourg and Florimont. Representing the 9th generation, Frédéric Bernhard produces fine, racy and gastronomic wines that are highly appreciated for their freshness and beautiful length. Among the nuggets to discover during your visit: the Pinot Gris Grand Cru Kaefferkopf, 1* in the Guide Hachette 2022.

The Klur family's Ecolieu is an unusual and friendly place. There is a coworking area, ecological lodgings, a micro-farm, a temporary bistro (open from May to September) and a tasting cellar where you can enjoy a very friendly atmosphere! Converted to organic cultivation in 1999, the Klur Vineyard itself currently covers 1.5 ha on the Wineck-Schlossberg Grand Cru and the Hinterburg area: Francine and Clément Klur have leased the 6 ha that completed their estate in Katzenthal. A decision taken with a view to starting a "joyful decline" to better concentrate on the development of an ultra-tight range of wines since the 2017 vintage now has only 5 references, 100% natural. The names of the wines reflect their respective characters: Il y a de l'Or dans l'Air (orange maceration wine), Appel d'Air (high altitude Riesling), Un Air de Famille (pinot noir from Hinterburg), Ô Grand Air (Riesling Grand Cru Wineck-Schlossberg) and Pet en l'Air (natural sparkling wine made from Riesling and Muscat). Goodness knows no lie: Élisa, the daughter of Clément and Francine Klur, now runs the family's micro domain (the smallest biodynamic vineyard in Alsace!) and she makes a new range of free wines. The family saga of the Klurs continues serenely with Elisa, the daughter of Francine and Clément. She took over the micro-winery in 2019, while continuing her training as a jeweler and goldsmith. In the process, she created her brand Tack&Glou and made her first 100% natural pinot noir from foot-pressed, hand-pressed grapes. The current range includes the Riesling Ô Grand Air, from the Grand Cru Wineck Schlossberg. More surprising with its bright orange color, Tête en l'Air is a blended wine of exquisite finesse.

In 1750, the 1 ^st viticultor of the Lorang line appeared. Initially, there were some lighthouses and a bistro. Since then, eight generations have passed and the area is 10 ha. Implanted in Florimont, a hill named as a rich flora, the Lorang estate produces quality Alsace wines for the greatest pleasure of your taste buds. Riesling, Gewurztraminer Vieilles Vignes, Vendanges Tardives, Selection of Noble Grains, Cuvée Prestige in Pinot Noir or Pinot Gris in the Special Reserve, here are some excellent wines you can find here.
