GALLO-ROMAN MUSEUM

Waudrez (in Latin, Vodgoriacum) was, in Roman times, the first stop on the road from Bavay to Cologne. In doing so, the place served both as a refuge for legionnaires and traders and as a relay for the Imperial Posts. Thanks to these economic activities, the village grew to become an agglomeration of some importance. All this population left traces of its existence in the area, which led to the collection of unusual or common objects, now exhibited in this archaeological museum.
