The inclined plane of Ronquières, the longest in the world with its slope of 1 432 meters
The Plan incliné de Ronquières, the longest in the world with a slope of 1,432 metres, is one of the most striking technical achievements of the second half of the 20th century. Until recently, it was possible to visit the site and, from the top, watch the boats pass by and admire the superb panorama. Unfortunately, it's now closed, and we hope it will reopen soon, but you can still admire it from afar if you're passing through.
