Impressive castle in the natural park of the Scheldt plains, still inhabited by the descendants of the princes of Ligne
The château is set in the natural park of the Scheldt plains, in the middle of its flooded moats; the whole is very impressive. Surrounded by water and a charming 25-hectare park with refined statues and groves as intimate as they are elegant, it richly deserves its nickname of Belgian Versailles. This 14th-century fortress is still inhabited by the descendants of the Princes de Ligne, who have owned it for eight centuries. The pink-brick edifice, with its towers, two levels of windows and mansard roofs, draws the eye with its majesty and splendor.

Belle bâtisse
Visité en Avril à l'occasion de l'exposition annuelle des amaryllis, ce château appartenant aux descendants des Lignes est impressionnant. Nombreuses animations programmées chaque été.

Château de la famille des princes de Ligne
Le château est toujours meublé et se visite en été. Le parc est très vaste et fait penser un peu à Versailles en plus modeste

J'ai profité de l'exposition Amaryllis pour visiter le château. Le château en lui-même n'a rien d'exceptionnel mais belle expo et parc agréable malgré l'absence de fleurs
