MANZANAR NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE

It is one of ten detention camps where 120,000 Japanese Americans were exiled during World War II. Here, many Americans learn about this dark episode in their history. A 3-mile drive takes you through the camp's buildings, gardens and cemetery. For those in a hurry, the Visitor Center shows a 20-minute film and presents permanent exhibits on the conditions of detention.
