With over 80,000 residents, Bloomington is the5th largest city in the state. It is a rather pleasant suburban city, with green spaces and easy access to Minneapolis via the Light Rail. However, for the visitor, it has little of interest. We mention Bloomington for one reason only: the city is home to the world's largest shopping mall, Mall of America. And that is an attraction in itself. Since Bloomington is very close to the Twin Cities airport, it is also a good option to sleep on the day of arrival, especially if you don't want to go back to Minneapolis but rather explore the surrounding area
