ICEHOTEL ^{* * *}

This is the number one attraction in Jukkasjärvi. This ice hotel is the very first of its kind in the world and it is also the largest. For more than twenty years, every year, some forty international artists, assisted by a team of specialists, have been sculpting the ice of the River Torne - one of the purest rivers in Europe - and giving shape to this temporary building. They also build an ice bar and an ice church. Guests sleep on a bed of ice at -5°C in sleeping bags provided by the hotel. A magical experience.
