Visit to discover the Arjuna temple and the Dieng plateau, a site offering superb panoramic views, especially at sunrise.
For the more adventurous, we recommend sleeping in Dieng and getting up at 5 a.m. (an hour earlier if you're in Wonosobo) to enjoy the magnificent view of the plateau at sunrise from Gunung Sikudir: Merapi and Merbabu volcanoes in the distance... but against the light! Very nice panorama of the plateau, however. Allow 30 minutes' climb from the end of the track, past a small village. Descend from the plateau around 12 noon, before the rain starts. The Sikidang crater is nearby. You'll have to walk on the wooden pontoon to get there.
