In Stórá Dímun lives a family of farmers. Before the use of helicopters, the farm and its outbuildings were inhabited only in summer. The grass here is particularly fat. Enriched with bird droppings, it produces high quality sheep meat. The local legend tells that an illegitimate couple once lived there.
