CATHEDRAL LINCOLN
Considered the highest building in the world in the 14th and 15th centuries, Lincoln Cathedral is still visible for several kilometres and remains an architectural monument of immense value. Only a few other cathedrals in the country can boast such a reputation, such as those in York, Durham, Canterbury, or Westminster. It is the icon of the city and the attraction that always attracts tourists to this charming city. The first stone was laid in 1088 but the construction went through several phases throughout the medieval period. Visitors admire the richness of its style, with an architecture that blends Norman, Gothic and Baroque. The columns (of Adam and Eve in particular), the portals and the nave are particularly stunning. Tours of the roof and tower are also possible by enquiring and booking in advance.
