The impatient Doha, in Arabic ad-Dawa, "the big tree", seems to want to grow ever faster, to the point of confusing its destiny with that of the country itself. Qatar = Doha, home to almost 70% of the country's population, now exceeds 1,200,000 souls, and is multiplying its peripheries by pushing its concentric ring-roads ever further. The A-Ring-Road has disappeared and the maps start at B, followed by C, D and E, the latter being the furthest inland. Between the tarmac and Doha's far north, The Pearl, there's no more than a 30-kilometre stretch along the famous corniche that runs along the sea to West Bay. The city continues to grow and spread out, with the Lusail district just emerging and the Mushreib district in the center just renovated. A city in perpetual construction, whatever the district, with an energy that never fails to amaze visitors.
