This 80,000-seat behemoth will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final on December 18, 2022, and is the centerpiece! Its architecture, all golden curves, is inspired by a dhow sail, the play of light and shadow played by the Fanar lanterns and the decorative motifs of Islamic art. It is part of the heart of Lusail, Doha's new "sustainable city" (eventually 250,000 residents). After the World Cup, the stadium will be transformed into schools, stores, cafes, sports facilities and a clinic. The 80,000 seats will be donated.
