This concession, west of the Trans-Kalahari River, is a formidable community wilderness area of over 13,000 km², offering views of large, dusty and silent desert expanses. Still very little valued for tourism, it is generally reserved for bush enthusiasts who return several times to Botswana or who live in Africa. The clientele in this region is indeed mainly South African, but there is no doubt that it will diversify, as the Kalahari region is increasingly valued. To get there, you have to go from Kang to Hukuntsi, 112 km on the asphalt road. Then, you will have to join one of the villages in charge of this natural area: Zutshwa, Ukwi, Ngwatle or Nkang. You will be able to sleep there in a camp that you will have to think of reserving beforehand. The inhabitants, less than 1,000 in total, are both San and Bakgalagadi. For several years now, there have been plans to develop ecotourism for the benefit of the villagers of this region. It is necessary to protect this natural corridor between the two large reserves of the Central Kalahari and the Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park. The points of interest are the same as the large reserves of the Kalahari, focusing both on landscapes, wildlife and meeting the inhabitants. Masetleng Pan is the most spectacular site of the Kaa Kalahari Concession. Take the well signposted road from Ngatle to reach the pan.
