BUNJIL SHELTER
Sacred site at Halls Gap, home to one of Victoria's most famous Aboriginal rock paintings.
Located near Stawell, in the Black Range Scenic Reserve, Bunjil's Shelter is home to the only known representation of the Aboriginal creator Bunjil, accompanied by his two dingoes. This culturally significant site offers valuable insight into the spiritual traditions of the Djab Wurrung and Jardwadjali peoples, who regard Bunjil as the creator of the surrounding landscape. A sacred place, reflecting the region's rich aboriginal culture. Protected by a stone overhang, the site is accessible via a short path from the parking lot.
