MOUNT WILLIAM (MOUNT DUWIL)
This 1,167-metre peak at Halls Gap offers superb views and is the highest in Grampians National Park.
The highest point in the Grampians at 1,167 metres, Mount William (Duwul) is reached after a 1.8 km walk on a tarmac road closed to vehicles. The climb is short but steep, and takes around 45 minutes. At the top, the panoramic view covers the whole park and the surrounding plains. The climate can be changeable, so it's best to bring a jacket. In summer and winter alike, this is a great place to watch the sunrise or sunset from high above.
