GRAND STAIRCASE-ESCALANTE MONUMENT (GSENM)

Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, located in the town of Grand Staircase Escalante-National Monument, is a veritable museum of sedimentary erosion. It takes visitors down a 200-million-year-old staircase of animals, minerals and plants. The 1.9 million-acre monument is divided into three geographical sections: Grand Staircase, Kaiparowits Plateau and Canyons of the Escalante. Each section offers spectacular scenery, hiking trails and impressive rock formations. Outdoor enthusiasts can take advantage of this vast playground for hiking, mountain biking or rock climbing.
