ESCALANTE INTERAGENCY VISITOR CENTER

The visitor center at the southern entrance to Escalante village features an exhibition on geology and a film on Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. You can pick up a detailed map of Scenic Byway 12, which runs through the area, and ask the rangers for advice on the condition of unpaved roads. The staff also have in-depth knowledge of the area and can offer advice on hiking, camping and restaurants.
