Pleasant garden in a modest palace with recently restored murals inspired by mythological tales

Jai Singh II had this palace built in 1710 for his second wife, a princess of the Sisodya dynasty, the rulers of Udaipur. Princess Sisodya gave birth to the future maharaja Madho Singh I. The palace, although modest, has many recently restored wall paintings inspired by mythological stories. One can easily imagine the young woman lounging in the pleasant garden listening to some storyteller or dilruba player.
