FESTIVIDAD RELIGIOSA DEL SEÑOR DE MAICA

During this religious festival, thousands of people come to pray to the "Señor de Maica", a statue of Jesus crucified in the church of La Calera, a municipality of Yotala in the department of Chuquisaca. Many sick people make this pilgrimage to find healing. Folklore groups, often including the Ballet Folklorico Municipal de Sucre and the Diablada de Tarabuco, perform the day before in preparation for the event.
