As a result of numerous geological upheavals, the Ouvéa atoll gradually subsided to the west, giving rise to the various islets that can be seen today. On the eastern coast, the land rose to form high coral cliffs, sculpted by erosion and offering the fabulous spectacle of Lékiny. The bay of Lékiny is a customary fishing reserve for the Fayawa tribe - a small island between the cliffs of Lékiny and Mouli, with its small white chapel visible from the bridge. (bathing is forbidden). To discover the local crafts, contact Marjorie Tiao, sculptor at 50.28.16
