Travel Guide Arolithos

Opened in 1987 and located 11 km west of Heraklion, on the old road leading to Rethymnon or towards Anogia (22 km), the private and reconstituted Arolithos village is a true showcase of Cretan crafts. Here, shortly before Tylissos on your right, live all the traditional crafts of the island, where the inhabitants wear the typical costumes of Crete. A kind of open-skinned museum… This is the occasion to immerse itself in the tradition Cretan tradition, even if authenticity is not always at the meeting. Special mention for the Niki Lyroni mosaic workshop that will explain everything in very good French.
