Capital of the province of the same name, San Luis is surrounded by mountains and is located on Route 7, between Mendoza and Buenos Aires. If the city is not very interesting from an architectural point of view, it is rather the surroundings that are worth the detour. Lake Portrero de Funes is a postcard landscape and lies 19 km to the northwest, the dunes of the Salinas del Bebedero are 38 km away in the direction of Mendoza, the Sierra de las Quijadas National Park with its red cliffs and multicolored canyons 120 km away.
