Capital of the eponymous province, this city, whose name means "bold" in Mapuche language, is the most important of Argentine Patagonia. The economy is centered on agriculture (such as apples, pears and vineyards) due to the presence of two rivers that feed the city. Take a break to discover some of the region's specificities: the San Patricio del Chañar wine route will take you on a tour of the bodegas "at the end of the world" while the well-named Dinosaur Route is full of fossils from another time: an opportunity to perfect your paleontological knowledge!
