On the road to Tchamba, in the village of Kparatao, about 7.5 km from Sokodé, there is a traditional Tem chiefdom, which is worth a visit if you want to learn more about this ethnic group. In some of the houses, you will find the tombs of ancient warriors to whom offerings are still made. In the village, stands a sculpture of a warrior on a horse, now riddled with bullets since clashes between protesters and police in 2018. Kparatao is indeed the birthplace of Tikpi Atchadam, leader of the Pan-African National Party and one of the main opponents of the president, Faure Gnassingbé.
