Skookum Jim's house in Carcross Commons with a Parks Canada office and gift store.
Built in 1899 for Skookum Jim, one of the prospectors who initiated the Klondike Gold Rush when gold was discovered near Dawson City, Skookum Jim House allows you to explore the history of the Klondike Gold Rush, Yukon sternwheelers and the living culture of the Tagish people. Today, the replica Skookum Jim House is located in Carcross Commons and houses the Parks Canada office for the Chilkoot Trail and a local history exhibit at the MacBride Museum. There is an on-site gift shop.
