FESTIVAL DE LA NOVILLA

The Festival de la Novilla, or "Festival of the Heifer", is a very popular festival celebrated every year in San Sebastián, a rural town located in the west of the island. Salsa and traditional music groups, a handicraft market, food stalls, merry-go-rounds... liven up this special day. The procession that puts a heifer at the heart of the event, the star of country life, decorated with ribbons and flowers, attracts thousands of people. San Sebastian is also known for its hammocks, made in the region.
