YANG ANCESTRAL HALL
This hall of ancestors, not far from the Eastern Gate, is an architectural treasure typical of traditional and rural China
The Yang Clan Ancestral Hall, built in 1836, embodies the traditional architecture of rural China. Dedicated to the memory of this influential Fenghuang lineage, it houses commemorative tablets and burns incense daily in tribute to the ancestors. Inside, a vast courtyard surrounded by atriums invites contemplation, with a majestic altar at its far end. Every day at 2pm and 2:30pm, performances in traditional dress enliven the premises. Outside these times, the place remains peaceful, perfect for enjoying a cup of tea.
