In the KwaZulu-Natal region, Giant's Castle is part of the Drakensberg mountain range. The place is particularly popular for its beautiful 35,000 ha game reserve, managed by KZN Wildlife, where elands and Cape vultures can be found. The reserve is also known for its many rock paintings that colour the caves. "The name 'The Castle of Giants' comes from the shape of the peaks and valleys when you stand back, like a sleeping giant over the landscape.
