The site of Toro Muerto, 160 km from Arequipa, at the height of Camana, is fascinating by its 6 000 petroglyphs, the oldest of which belong to the huari culture (900 to 1200 metres. J), engraved in volcanic rock 4 km long and 250 m high. Further afield, we face the mass of the Ajirhua (5 266 m) and the Luceria (4 257 m), between which is the deepest part of the Colca-Majes canyon, just before reaching el Valle de los Volcanes, accompanied by the snowy summit of Coropuna (6 615 m).
