This small site, located 45 kilometers west of Sayaxché, can be reached by navigating the La Pasión River. It was a point of convergence in the commercialization of products between the peoples settled on both sides of the Usumacinta river, which acts as a border between Guatemala and Mexico, in the Chiapas region. Above all, it was a Mayan ceremonial center, as evidenced by its stone "del Sacrificio", which gave the place its name. These mounds of medium height have a temple in the form of a pyramid, some stelae with hieroglyphs, as well as burials. For the visit, inquire at the INGUAT of Flores.
