Very important in Marquesan mythology, the Ta'aoa Valley is home to the great ceremonial centre Upeke, a grandiose archaeological site partially restored in 1991. Called "Tohua Upeke", it is located 25 minutes away from Ta'aoa and has more than a thousand pae pae. Also take the opportunity to meet Linnea Rocher. To eat, Asam Veselski (open Wednesday evening, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening) is highly recommended. On the way back to Atuona, don't forget to make a detour to the Vainako waterfalls. To get around the waterfalls, consider electric bikes (+689 87 311 106): from 3,500 CFP.
