Ahe is an atoll of 20 km long and 10 km wide, located north of the archipelago, 15 km west of Manihi, with less than 500 inhabitants. It was discovered by the Dutch, the Mayor and Schouten. The navigator Bernard Moitessier stayed there for a while (between 1975 and 1978), captivated by his jade lagoon and pale honey, with intense violin reflections. The atoll, enjoying a beautiful primary forest, has a pass, Tiareroa, allowing access to the interior of the lagoon. The village of Tenukupara is mainly fishing, coprahculture and perliculture. Dive sites are magnificent, including the falls of Rahokoro and Taharuga (gray sharks, white and black tip, white fins, dormers and even hammers, manta and leopard lines, turtles, napoleon, barracuda benches…). Many yachting boats stop there from the Marquises.
